This week in MTF we had a guest speaker come in by the name of "Ashley Close". Ashley is a graduate from the SAFC (South Australian Film Corporation) and deals with adding sound effects and music to films, games, short movies and more.
I found Closes presentation informative as well as very interesting. It's amazing how much money is poured into these big name and even smaller shows for just the sound production itself. The one thing i really couldn't get my head around though was the amount spent to record an orchestra for just one day, you would have to feel bad if you ate a spicy vindaloo that wasn't sitting to well.
In conclusion the talk that Ashley gave really inspired me to look into the film industry some more and i hope in the not too distant future i can get my hands on some real work in the industry.
